The North Tulsa Art Project is a collaborative, cross-disciplinary series of events comparing North Tulsa in the early 1990's with North Tulsa today. Has there been changes made in North Tulsa in the past 25 years? What are they? What changes NEED to be made?
On Saturday June 3, 2017 at 8pm at Living Arts of Tulsa, Performing Artists from various disciplines (Poets, Rappers, Musicians, Actors, and Dancers) will artistically express their sentiments, ideas, and opinions about North Tulsa. Curated by Phetote Mshairi.
The goals of the North Tulsa Art Project are:
- To challenge artists to create NEW and ORIGINAL work in any media which addresses change in the North Tulsa Areas of our community;
- To help form collaborations between artists and create new synergistic ways of thinking about social justice issues and art making;
- And to help the general public think and talk about what they feel about North Tulsa and to spur them to consider what options they might want to see happen in North Tulsa.
At Living Arts, we believe art can be a vehicle for social change. Come out and be a part of some of the creative voices for North Tulsa!
