  • Monday, October 30, 2017 (All day) to Saturday, November 4, 2017 (All day)

Living Arts of Tulsa is hosting a celebration of "Dia de los Muertos" in which it is believed by some Hispanic cultures that the spirits of those who have passed from this earth are remembered and believed to return to join the living who are holding vigil by their altar. Food, flowers, artwork, performances, music, firewroks, dancing are all part of the ultimate contrast between the sadness of death and the joy of living. The Tulsa area public is invited to build an ofrenda, or alter, to a friend or loved one to remember them.

For those building an altar: This year, Living Arts of Tulsa will curate submitted alters in conjunction with the Day of the Dead Festival.
Submissions are due October 15th at 11:55pm
Selected projects will be notified on October 24th.
Altar Drop-Off will be October 28th from 1-4pm; Pick Up will be Tuesday, November 7th from 12-5pm.
Dimensions should stay within 5ft wide, 4ft out from the wall. Our walls are approx 14ft high
